OHS Choirs: Grand Champions at Music in the Parks Festival

Look at all that hardware!

MAY 20, 2012: In their third appearance in the past five years at a national music competition, the OHS choirs claimed all superior ratings, first place finishes, and received the Grand Champion Trophy for the highest scores of all divisions!  A total of 24 music groups from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey appeared at this past weekend's music competition held at Cedar Point.

All three Oxford High School Choral groups - Caritas, Women's Choir and Chorale -  earned superior ratings on national performance standards.  The Grand Champion Trophy was awarded to the Oxford High School Chorale for the highest rating out of all choral groups.

The highest honor Oxford choirs received was the Esprit de Corps trophy. This is the final award presented at the competition.  Just one school is recognized for professional standards of conduct in addition to performance excellence. The participating 120 Oxford High School Choral vocalists received the award for their professionalism on stage and off and for their support of each other and musicians from other schools.  Congratulations to director Christopher Card and all the 200+ students in five OHS choirs on a great season and an award-winning finale!
