April 27, Follow-up on April 8 OHS Phone Threats

Dear Oxford School Community,

We wanted to share an update with you on the concerning and threatening phone calls received at OHS on April 8, 2022.  Law enforcement, including the computer crimes unit, 14 agencies nationwide and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, was able to track down the alleged perpetrator. He resides in the United Kingdom, is 16 years old and was arrested on April 13, 2022.  This individual made several threatening and disturbing phone calls to schools not only in our county but across our country targeting 37 other businesses and schools in the United States.

We are grateful to Sheriff Michael Bouchard, our School Resource Officer Detective Louwaert and the whole Oakland County Sheriff’s Office team for their swift investigation and guidance in this case. It is not always possible to quickly find the source of disturbing threats and to definitively close these cases but we are very thankful it has happened in this situation so accountability and justice can be served.

Sincerely,
Ken Weaver
Superintendent
