December 17, A Message from Principal Wolf

Dear Wildcat Nation,

Over the past few weeks, we have seen amazing signs of support in our community, across Michigan and around the world as we continue to grieve and heal. Most recently, more than 700 of our Oxford High School Wildcats packed the Legacy Center for a day of safe, fun, and structured activities.

As your high school principal, I was touched beyond words on Thursday to see our students smiling, laughing, and enjoying an all-around day of fun at the Legacy Center. We had 50 staff members on site throughout the day to help make this special event for our kids such a success.

Thursday’s celebration included everything from curling, bowling and pool, to a trampoline park, cornhole, tricycle racing and an arcade. Students also had the opportunity to meet members of the Detroit Lions, Pistons and Red Wings who stopped by to show their support for our Wildcats.

The Legacy Center also offered designated areas for students to gather, reconnect, and support one another. We had grief, trauma, and crisis counselors on hand for students who may have needed a break in the action, and had at least 24 therapy dogs on site. To help ensure a safe and secure event, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies were present throughout the festivities.

I’d like to thank everyone from the amazing and generous Legacy Center staff, to our event sponsors and volunteers for creating a day of pure joy for our students. Check out the District Facebook page for some great pictures of our day together.

Together, we are Oxford StrOng.

Sincerely,

Steven Wolf, Principal
