August 24, Welcome Back

Dear Oxford Wildcats,

The night before the first day of school always has some worry and anxiety associated with it. Tonight, we all probably have a little more worry than usual. I want to reassure you that your Oxford Community Schools staff is here to support and help your child now and into the future. We love our Wildcats and we are excited to have them back with us. Their safety is always our top priority, and it will remain so throughout the years to come. We are honored by your trust and support.

Whether this is your child’s last year or their first year of school, I am confident that this year will bring a restored promise of possibilities and a passion to explore educational pursuits and interests. Each of our students brings a special gift, talent, or skill to our school community. We treasure each of our Wildcats and are better for having your child be a part of our school culture. I hope that each of your children can find inspiration and a special connection with an adult or a peer this year to enrich their experience in their school. Please know that we are here to support you as well. Please reach out to a staff member at your child’s school if you have any questions.

We all have a tremendous capacity to impact the lives of others. As a school district, our staff is always looking for ways to inspire and encourage our students. Whether it be from rigorous academic expectations, a vigorous music program, strong athletic programs, or engaging after-school programs, we hope to provide a strong foundation with an encouraging word, so our students remain a Wildcat learner for life. You provide a tremendous source of inspiration and encouragement as your child’s first and favorite teacher. Please remember that we are in partnership with you, and we welcome your support in making this a great year. Together, we will make it a great year!

My wish for all of you is for a peace and happiness this school year. I thank you for your continued support. May you and your child have a tremendous school year with lots of laughter and love.

Sincerely,

Ken Weaver
