Dear Oxford Families and Staff,
Out an abundance of caution we have called the fire department to assess a concern regarding the pottery kiln in the art room at Oxford High School. Pottery pieces were accidently burnt inside of the kiln and there is a burnt odor in the nonacademic portions of the building. The issue did not produce enough smoke to trigger our fire alarm system, and no one is in danger. With the Meet the Teams night and the elementary Super Singer concert, we wanted our community to be aware as to why emergency vehicles are at the school, and to know that everyone is safe to be in the building and the issue is being thoroughly handled.
