On November 12, Oxford High School proudly celebrated its annual Athletic Scholarship Signing Ceremony, honoring ten Wildcat athletes who officially committed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and supporters, these outstanding student–athletes represented a wide range of sports, including volleyball, golf, track and field, soccer, wrestling, and baseball. The event highlighted not only their athletic success but also their years of dedication, discipline, and perseverance within their sports.
The ceremony began with remarks from Tony DeMare, the Athletic Director, and Brad Bigelow, the High School Principal, both of whom recognized the remarkable character and commitment of the student–athletes. Following their remarks, coaches who have served as mentors throughout the athletes’ journeys also shared words of pride and encouragement. Finally, right before the official signing, each athlete had the opportunity to speak, reflecting on their experiences, thanking those who supported them, and expressing their excitement for the future.
Collectively, this signing class brings an impressive list of accomplishments to the table, including regional and district championships, as well as ten individual state qualifiers. Their achievements reflect the strength of Oxford’s athletic programs and the unwavering commitment of each athlete to excel both on and off the field.
