Oxford Community Schools is inviting community members to help shape an important component of its newly adopted Strategic Plan. As part of Goal 2, Knowledgeable, Critical Thinkers & Communicators, the district is launching a community-wide effort to update its Portrait of a Graduate (PoG), a framework that defines the skills and attributes students need for success after graduation.
The Portrait of a Graduate looks beyond traditional academic indicators. It highlights durable, post-secondary skills that today’s rapidly evolving workplaces demand, including complex problem analysis, resilience, communication, and innovative thinking. This work supports the district’s long-term vision of preparing students to thrive in college, careers, and life.
To ensure the updated PoG reflects the real needs of the future workforce, Oxford Community Schools is asking families, staff, industry partners, and residents to complete a short survey. The survey takes approximately five minutes and includes questions about respondents’ connection to the community, the industries they represent, and the durable skills they believe are most essential for graduates. Participants may also provide open-ended feedback about the challenges students face as they enter the workforce.
Community members can participate by accessing this Portrait of a Graduate Community Survey.
In addition to the survey, the district will host two in-person sessions to gather further insight. Parents and guardians, staff, business owners, and representatives from local industries are invited to take part. These sessions will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 1–3 p.m. or 5:30–7:30 p.m. Individuals interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance (In-Person Session Registration Link).
Community input will play an important role as Oxford Community Schools aligns its educational programs for the next five years. We appreciate the ongoing partnership that supports students as they grow into confident, capable graduates.
