Dear Wildcat Families:

Welcome back to another exciting school year! We hope your summer has been restful and filled with great memories. As we prepare for a strong start to the 2025–2026 academic year, we are excited to once again gather as a community to support our students both in the classroom and beyond, including under the Friday night lights!

Oxford High School’s football games have long been a point of pride and tradition in our community. To ensure this experience continues to be safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for all, we are implementing a few important changes this season. These updates are based on feedback from families, staff, and public safety partners, and align with best practices being adopted across the region.

Updates and Reminders for the 2025-2026 School Year:

  • No Re-Entry to the Stadium.

  • All Oxford High School students must have a school ID for entry. Showing PowerSchool schedule is allowed.

  • Expect to go through the Evolv weapons detection system for entry.

  • Students: No bags of any kind will be allowed for students.

  • No outside footballs or sporting equipment.

  • Middle School and Elementary aged children are to be accompanied, supervised by, and in the vicinity of an adult.

    • Our ticket workers will not allow unsupervised students to enter into the stadium.

    • If there are issues with accompanied students gathering and causing unsafe issues, parents will be contacted and the students will be barred for the rest of the season.

  • Adults: No backpacks or large bags. Small purses, diaper bags, and medical bags are permissible and are subject to search.

  • No outside food or beverages are allowed into the stadium. This includes empty or filled bottles, cups, thermos containers, coolers, mugs, etc.

  • Oxford Community Schools prohibits the possession and/or use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and weapons while on school property and at any district related event. Please see Policies 3102.01 and 3408.01 for more information.

  • Alcohol is strictly prohibited; anyone who attempts to bring alcohol and/or is visibly under the influence of any substance will be removed for the rest of the season.

  • All school rules and district policies are in effect and will be enforced for this event.

We remain committed to providing our students, families, and community members with an enjoyable game-day experience that reflects the values of Oxford Community Schools. Your partnership is key in making that possible. Should there be anything we can do to assist you or your student, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Let’s have a safe, spirited, and successful season. Go Wildcats!

Sincerely,

Tony DeMare, Athletic Director, Oxford Community Schools

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our community! Thanks to the generosity of a private donor, Oxford High School will soon have a brand-new football field! We’re excited about the positive impact this gift will have for students across multiple activities.

This incredible gift will cover the full cost of the field replacement, which means no district funds will be used for this project. The new turf will proudly remain our signature Wildcat blue, and this donation reflects a shared commitment to enhancing student experiences whenever possible without additional cost to our taxpayers.

Construction will begin right away. Our Athletic Director, Tony DeMare, is coordinating closely with coaches to ensure that practices and scheduling remain uninterrupted throughout the process. We are hopeful that the new field will be ready in time for our first home football game on August 29, but there is a chance the work may not be completed by then. If a location change is necessary, we’ll communicate those details with families as soon as possible.

We’re incredibly grateful for this generous investment in our students, our programs, and our district. Thank you for your continued support; we can’t wait to see our Wildcats take the field this fall!

Dear Families and Staff,

We want to let you know that there will be fire alarm testing at Oxford Elementary School on Thursday, July 17, and Friday, July 18, beginning between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. each day.

These are only tests, and no evacuation will be required. However, the alarms will sound throughout the building as part of the routine system checks.

If you or your child will be at Oxford Elementary for breakfast or attending the OELC Summer Camp on either of those days, please be prepared for the brief noise and activity during the testing period.

Sincerely,
Oxford Community Schools

We’re so grateful for our amazing local businesses that love celebrating our Wildcats as much as we do. 🎓🎉 Our Oxford 2025 Graduates can stop by Magic Brownie Box anytime in July for a FREE chocolate-covered marshmallow! Just bring your student ID! (P.S. This sweet treat is one per grad—so make it count! 😉)

OHS yearbooks are scheduled to be delivered in August, approximately around 8/15. The exact date is TBD, but typically grads will have a pick-up date as soon as they arrive and all returning students can collect their copy during registration. Sales are closed at this time. If there are any extras available, they are first come, first served for $85.

Our “I AM Third” club at Oxford High School had a meaningful year of outings and service! This spring, members volunteered at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, boxing over 2,400 lbs of food for ice storm victims in the U.P. and sorting/packing 19,828 lbs to support the center’s organization. We are so proud of our students for making a difference! #OCSWildcats #WorldClassWildcats

Unfortunately, the tank scheduled to appear at tonight’s Military Appreciation Varsity Baseball Game will no longer be attending due to unforeseen conflicts. Also, a quick reminder that there is no school on Monday. We wish you all a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend.

"I can't help but think that, as we assemble together on this 15th day of May 2025 and celebrate you, the Oxford graduating class of 2025, that this graduation ceremony will forever be described as 'The Granddaddy of Them All.' Your class is special. You are surrounded by your support system this evening to honor you in this incredible setting. Your family, friends, teachers, and staff are by your side. There's a reason we circle this date on our calendar — it's a big deal. You are a big deal…and we are all so proud of you." - Mr. Bigelow #OCSWildcats #WorldclassWildcats

Reminder! Our next Community Conversations will be tomorrow, Tuesday, May 13 at 6 PM at Oxford Elementary! This one has no set schedule or presentations — just an open, welcoming space to talk about whatever’s on your mind with board members and district administrators. Whether you have questions, ideas, or just want to listen in, we’d love to have you there. 💬 #WorldclassWildcats #OCSWildcats

Last week, Career Focused Education Director Lisa Butts and Career Navigator Leslie Fletemier hosted Decision Day during the Class of 2025 breakfast! 🎉To celebrate the "Bright Futures" of the Class of 2025, students were asked to wear gear that signifies their next steps - whether it be college, military, specialty programs, apprenticeships, workforce or gap year and get their picture taken. Students were also asked to sign the class sunrise and pick up a pair of cool sunglasses. A great way to celebrate the last day of school for our seniors! #OCSWildcats #WorldClassWildcats
