Good afternoon, Oxford Virtual Academy Parents and Guardians,
We are pleased to share that a new principal has been selected to lead Oxford Virtual Academy beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. Following a thoughtful selection process, we are pleased to introduce Mrs. Katie Hunt into this role.
Mrs. Hunt brings a strong background in education, a commitment to student growth, and a collaborative approach to leadership. We are confident that her experience and passion will support a positive and engaging school environment for students, staff, and families.
Please take a moment to read the message below from Katie Hunt, where she shares more about herself and her excitement about joining the Oxford Virtual Academy community.
----------
Dear Oxford Virtual Academy Families,
I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new Principal of Oxford Virtual Academy. It is a privilege to serve your students and your families.
My husband and I are proud to call Oxford home, where we are raising our two daughters, Abbie (4th grade) and Ellie (7th grade). Like you, we care deeply about our children’s experiences, their growth, and their sense of belonging.
I come to OVA with experience leading programs that support a wide range of learners, including students who need flexible, individualized approaches to be successful. I believe strongly that every student deserves not only access to learning, but also connection, support, and a clear path forward.
OVA offers a strong and flexible learning environment that meets students where they are and helps them grow. Whether your child is fully virtual or hybrid, they are an important part of this community.
I want to build strong relationships with our families and understand your journey in OVA and how we can continue to create a meaningful experience for your family.
I am truly grateful to be part of OVA and Oxford Community Schools family. I am looking forward to beginning our work together to support your children.
With appreciation,
Katie Hunt

Dear Oxford Community Schools Families,
We understand that some families may have concerns about food insecurity. For additional support if needed, we have compiled a list of local food assistance resources. You can access the full list on our website here: Food Assistance Resources.
We also want to remind families that every student is encouraged to eat a free breakfast and lunch at school each day to ensure they have access to nutritious meals.
If your family is in need and unable to access food, please reach out to a Family School Liaison (FSL) or any school staff member. We are here to help connect you with the right resources.
Sincerely,
Oxford Community Schools
Enjoy trick-or-treating tonight! 💙💛

Dear OVA/Quo Vadis Parents and Guardians,
We wanted to provide you with information regarding law enforcement assistance at our location earlier today. Oxford’s Gaggle monitoring system alerted staff to a concerning statement made by a student on a district device. OVA and Quo Vadis staff members responded immediately in accordance with district safety procedures and contacted law enforcement to assist.
The situation was contained quickly, and there is no threat to students or staff. A formal threat assessment is underway, and the student involved will not be returning to school while the investigation continues. As a reminder, the threat assessment team includes a School Resource Officer, Administrator, and Mental Health Professional.
We understand that situations like this can be unsettling. Please know that our safety protocols worked as designed. The well-being of our students and staff remains our highest priority. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in maintaining a safe learning environment.
