We’re so grateful for the incredible support our schools receive from our local businesses!

This month, we’re giving a special shoutout to The Magic Brownie Box and UPS. Both are generously offering exclusive discounts to all OCS staff throughout January.

Thank you for continuing to support our schools!

Our 2nd grade Spanish students had so much fun in class with Mrs. Rizor creating their own adjective people! Using “Yo soy” (I am), they described their personalities and how they look, all in Spanish. ¡Muy bien!

POG session Januar7 27th

Dear OCS Community and Staff,

You’re invited to join us for a “Community of the Whole” session focused on our Portrait of a Graduate—our shared vision of the knowledge, skills, and character traits every student should develop by the time they graduate from our district. This portrait guides what we teach, how we teach it, and how we support students from kindergarten through graduation.

About the Session

  • Purpose: We’ll provide a brief update on the work completed so far, including how we gathered input from students, families, educators, and community partners, and how themes have emerged.

  • Your voice: We’ll facilitate activities to solicit your input on the draft competencies and priorities, so the Portrait reflects our whole community.

  • Strategic alignment: This revises our current Portrait of a Graduate to align with the district’s updated strategic plan, ensuring our vision for graduates reflects evolving priorities and continues to prepare every student for college, career, and life.

Event Details

  • Date/Time: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 6:00 PM

  • Location: Oxford Elementary School (OES); 109 Pontiac Street

  • This session is open to all community members, and no registration is required.

Your perspectives will help us finalize a portrait that is inclusive, ambitious, and actionable for all students.

Additionally, we have reopened the Portrait of a Graduate community survey that was sent last month for those who would still like to add their input.

Thank you for partnering with us to shape a future-ready experience for every student. We hope to see you there!

Clear Lake students celebrated Día de los Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day) in Spanish class! They got to sample rosca de reyes, a sweet, oval-shaped bread, and learned about the tradition of leaving shoes out for small gifts. What a fun way to explore another culture!

Our Lakeville 5th graders are making music from the page to the instrument! After labeling treble clef notes in a folk song of their choice, students played what they wrote on barred instruments. What great practice in reading and performing music! 🎶
