Dear Oxford Community Schools Families,
We have two important leadership updates to share regarding our safety department.
First, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Carl Sproul has been selected as the Director of School Safety for Oxford Community Schools, beginning July 1, 2026. Dr. Sproul has been a valued member of our district since 2012 and currently serves as Assistant Principal at Oxford Middle School.
Dr. Sproul brings an extensive academic and practical background to this role, holding a Doctorate in Educational Leadership as well as a Master’s in School Administration. His tenure at Oxford Middle School has given him a deep, first-hand understanding of the intersection between physical security, technology, and student mental health. He has proven experience navigating the unique safety challenges of our environment and already possesses in-depth knowledge of the district’s safety systems, protocols, processes, and emergency procedures. This familiarity will help support continuity and a seamless transition as he steps into this leadership role overseeing all district security programs, personnel, and emergency protocols.
Second, we want to share that Dr. Allison Willemin, Executive Director of School Safety, Security, and Student Services, has decided to pursue a new professional opportunity outside of Oxford Community Schools. Her last day with the district will be June 30. We are incredibly thankful for her years of service and her dedication to strengthening safety and support systems across our district.
Over the coming weeks, Dr. Willemin and Dr. Sproul will work closely together to support a smooth transition prior to her departure. As part of this transition, the district will also be realigning responsibilities within the department to ensure continued support for all aspects of school safety and student services moving forward, while also ensuring Oxford Middle School remains fully supported.
