Ever wonder how small shifts in perspective can create huge positive changes in our school community? We're launching an Inclusion Awareness Series to explore the principles that make Oxford Community Schools a welcoming space for all. Posts will focus on flexibility, understanding different needs, and ensuring every student feels safe, valued, and accepted. Let's learn and grow together!

Some of us like to tackle tasks right away. Others need a bit more time to process, plan, or manage our energy throughout the day. Recognizing that pace is personal and offering flexibility isn't lowering the bar, it's simply making success achievable for everyone. Inclusion means creating environments where different paces and needs are supported. This flexibility reduces stress and increases genuine participation for our entire school community.

Yesterday, our OHS staff came together for good food, great company, and plenty of smiles.

A huge thank-you to Sick Pizza for providing the delicious pizza, salad, and breadsticks, and to our cabinet members for serving lunch with so much care. We are grateful for this amazing and supportive community!

5th Grade Concerts were in full swing at the OHS PAC, featuring the talented choirs from Lakeville and Clear Lake!

Their performances were outstanding and showcased a wide variety of music, ranging from the theme of Heroes and Villains to Eye of the Tiger, and of course the classic Oxford Fight Song.

We are so proud of their hard work! 🎶🎤

From library explorers to literary teachers, our IBDP students are leveling up! Ms. Blaszczyk took her History Year 1 students to Oakland University, where they learned how to research like pros. Ms. Carman’s English Year 2 students also switched roles and taught Mr. Bigelow how to draw powerful connections between Shakespeare and Taylor Swift, exploring themes, characters, and concepts in a whole new way.

Have questions about the IB Diploma Programme? Reach out to the IBDP coordinator, Julie Carman, at julie.carman@oxfordschools.org to learn more.

Dear Oxford Community Schools Families,

Starting Monday, December 1, Oxford High School will adjust its afternoon entry procedures as outlined below.

After 3:00 p.m., Door #17 (south, pool entrance) will be Exit Only. Anyone wishing to enter the building after this time should use Door #2 (main office entrance). Visitors and students may still be picked up at Door #17, which will remain open for exit only.

Morning arrival procedures will remain unchanged.

We understand that changes can take a little getting used to, and we appreciate your patience. This adjustment will help keep everyone safe while allowing events, practices, and other activities to run smoothly.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Sincerely,
Oxford Community Schools

A cold and rainy day like today has us thinking about a cozy moment at the Oxford Early Learning Center! ☔🍲 After reading Stone Soup, our 4-year-old preschoolers each chose a vegetable they wanted to prepare and help add to the soup. They loved working together and enjoying the tasty results later in the day. 🥕😊

Dear Oxford Community Schools Families,

Sunday, November 30, 2025, is Wildcat Remembrance Day. We recognize that healing is a long and complex journey, and the well-being of our school community remains a core focus. We encourage you to spend this day in whatever way feels appropriate for your family.

Again this year, as a community, we plan to come together in two meaningful ways:

Moment of Silence at 12:51 p.m.
Wherever you are, we invite you to join us in a moment of silence.

Lighting of Luminaries at 7 p.m.
We invite the community to light luminaries as a symbol of love and remembrance. Luminaries were available for students and staff at their schools, or families may use any light to take part in this shared moment.

Please note that Oxford High School and its parking areas will remain closed that day.

As always, please reach out to your child’s teacher, principal, or a family-school liaison if you or your child need support.

Sincerely,
Oxford Community Schools
