❄️ Middle School Winter Olympics: Let the Games Begin! ❄️
Our gym classes transformed into their own Winter Olympics this past week, and the energy was amazing! Students rotated through creative, team-based events inspired by the Games, showing off teamwork, sportsmanship, and serious school spirit.
No ice or snow needed for these athletes-in-training!

Fourth graders in Mrs. Hulslander’s class at OES put their research skills to the test during their Reading the Weather unit! 🌦️ From hurricanes to earthquakes, students worked hard to gather information on natural disasters and confidently presented their findings to families invited to watch. Way to go!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to hear from you!
Soon you’ll get an email with a link to our annual School Quality Survey. It will come from “Oxford Community Schools via K12 Insight” (Tonya.Milligan@sogolytics-edu.com). It’s your chance to help shape our schools, not spam.
The survey takes about 10 minutes, is anonymous, and covers academics, student support, safety, leadership, parent engagement, and more. Families with children in multiple buildings can take it more than once.
Your voice matters! The more parents who respond, the stronger our schools become!
If you don’t receive the survey (check spam first) or have questions, please email Dr. Gary van Staveren at gary.vanstaveren@oxfordschools.org.
This survey will be open through March 9, 2026.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Throwback to the 100th day of class, when 4th and 5th grade teachers at Leonard dressed the part! It brought lots of smiles, smirks, and “What in the world?” comments. 👵

But she wasn’t off the hook. Afterward, she still took pies to the face with Principal Murphy!
So many students and colleagues (past and present) shared their thoughts and kind words today about what makes Mrs. Hay so special to them. Here are some words written by one of her students:
Mrs. Hay is a very great teacher and a great friend. She makes sure everyone is included. She makes sure everyone is in a good mood. She is a funny person. She makes everything fun. She gives us a class party when there’s a chance, and she always has our back when we need help. ❤️
Congratulations, Mrs. Hay!!!

With the recent stretch of warmer temperatures, melting snow, and heavy rain, several of our school buildings have experienced roof leaks. Our maintenance team has inspected the affected areas and is actively managing them while we await repair work from our roofing contractor. We are scheduled for repairs as soon as weather conditions allow.
At this time, there is no indication of a safety risk to students or staff. The leaks are limited to building materials and have not affected drinking water systems. Custodial and maintenance staff continue to monitor areas, remove any standing water, and ensure spaces remain safe for learning. If conditions were to change in any way that could impact health or safety, families would be notified immediately.
We appreciate your patience as we work with contractors to complete repairs and will continue to monitor conditions closely.
Sincerely,
Oxford Community Schools

Our staff had fun playing a game of Celebrity Matchmaker during the Valentine’s season! Staff members each received half of a celebrity couple and had to find their match!
