Mrs. Peruski from Clear Lake will always hold a special place in our hearts. She goes above and beyond to create a safe, structured and engaging relationship and space with her students. Although my daughter is no longer in her class, she still knows that Mrs. Peruski is one of her safe and trusted adults at school who she can (and has) gone to if needed, and likely will be even when our daughter is no longer in elementary school. Mrs. Peruski has gone out of her way to check on our daughter after a hard day (on her own time), and came to a softball game where a few of her students were playing (again, on her own time) which meant the world to the girls. My daughter thrived in her classroom because of her care and structure. Mrs. Peruski deserves to be recognized and celebrated! -Melissa K.

Thank you Mrs. Collins from DA! Upon filling out our mismatch request for the 2024-2025 school year, I described my daughter's personality, characteristics and learning needs. I specifically notated that Tegan would fit best with an educator who exhibits a nurturing presence, calm demeanor and implements positive reinforcement. Mrs. Collins was indeed the perfect match. She has proven to be impeccably kind, patient, compassionate and empathetic in my time of knowing her. The consistent support she has provided for Tegan, whilst navigating her learning journey, has been unwavering. Despite the challenges, Mrs. Collins handles every situation with grace, love and enthusiasm.
As the daughter of an elementary school principal (who unfortunately lost her battle with cancer last year), I've witnessed the challenges that teachers & staff experience with children that have “special requirements”. It is no easy feat, and just like my role as a nurse, I've learned that being a teacher is more than a career, but also a "calling" that can only be fulfilled meaningfully by certain individuals. Thank you, Mrs. Collins, for following your calling and teaching with your soul. We are grateful for your dedication, patience, tailoring to our daughters needs and all of the above. Senora Cuello from Clear Lake is such a dedicated and caring teacher. I'm very impressed with how much Spanish the students know when they leave Clear Lake. The 5th grade field trip she puts together is one of the best field trips I've ever been on as a chaperone. Not only is she a great teacher but she cares so much for the students. She takes the time to get to know them on a personal level and make that connection with them. She even checks in on them when they move to middle school and encourages them to visit her back at Clear Lake if they are there. Senora also takes a great interest in the school as a whole and keeps up with PTO activities and is supportive and helps when she can. Our family is so grateful to have her at our school and are excited that our 2nd grade student will have her next year. -Jessica J.

His influence was so lasting that he even became a part of one of my son’s college essays! Mr. Yinger’s dedication not only fostered a deep love of science in my children but also helped shape their future paths—one pursuing environmental science research and the other working toward a degree in biomedical engineering with aspirations of becoming a doctor. Ms. Lee from OELC has gone above and beyond to teach, care for and love on our Drew! This school year has exceeded our expectations for what Preschool could be. Drew was very shy and nervous to try a new school with all new kids, but under her care he has gained incredible confidence. Socially, he has made lots of new friends and become more assertive in sharing his thoughts. His learning of basic literacy and math concepts has been incredible. Ms. Lee and Ms. Vandervoort have expertly integrated the arts, sciences, and IB philosophies into daily learning. Additionally, they provided extra learning experiences like field trips and an art show! We have been so happy with our son's experience this year and he loves Ms. Lee so much! -Jamie G.

This is our first year having Mr. Tootalian from OMS as our daughter's math teacher, and from the very beginning, he stood out. Before the school year even began, he was already offering math support to students—something that immediately showed his commitment to their success.
As the year progressed and our daughter began to struggle with certain concepts, Mr. Tootalian didn’t hesitate to step in. He kept open and consistent communication with both my husband and me, always keeping us informed and involved. More than that, he provided after-school tutoring and went the extra mile to help her grasp challenging material. His support made a meaningful difference in her confidence and progress.
I also had the opportunity to observe Mr. Tootalian firsthand during the Washington, D.C. trip. Throughout the entire experience, he remained engaged, vigilant, and communicative. He showed an unwavering sense of responsibility, all while treating students and adults with respect and kindness. His professionalism, patience, and genuine care for his students were evident in every interaction.

Mr. Robydek from OES is a special teacher. He makes sure his students have a safe and fun atmosphere - always looking for creative ways to teach curriculum. Nicholas was lucky enough to be his student council rep his 5th grade year. I really believe this helped his confidence. Over the years they have touched base here and there. Nicholas knows he can count on him if he needs anything. He lights up when he sees Mr. Robydek. He feels valued and seen. We are so appreciative of Mr. Robydek and his relationship he creates with his students. Not just the year they are with him, but throughout the years.
