I started my career in education in 2000 with Bloomfield Hills Schools. From 2001 to 2018, I worked in Walled Lake Consolidated Schools where I was a classroom teacher for 10 years and an elementary school principal for 7 years! In my career as a classroom teacher, I taught grades 3-5, co-taught in a 4th and 5th multi-cultural, multi-age classroom, and opened my classroom to other teachers to learn in the "lab" setting. In 2006, I was humbled by receiving the "Teacher of the Year" award and in 2007, I was nominated for Oakland County Elementary Teacher of the Year.

During my teaching years, I participated in the Galileo Leadership Consortium with fellow educators across the tri-county area. Through this learning, I grew as a teacher leader and grew my knowledge of educational systems. I believe my purpose is to help positively shape, impact, and empower culture, society, and people. My vehicle is education. Further, I believe all kids deserve a high-quality, free and public education. This is a big part of my job responsibility as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary instruction and a responsibility I take seriously. Additionally, in my role, I hope to continue to cultivate a culture of thinking and excellence by building relationships, holding myself and others accountable, and leading with integrity.

I'm a proud first generation Chaldean American and speak Arabic fluently. I have a large family that I love spending time with! I love to travel the world as I believe it's humbling and opens your mind and heart to others! I enjoy running, rowing, and group fitness classes and strive to live a healthy, balanced life! I enjoy baking, playing board games, and attending small workshops that help me learn new things like hand lettering, card making, baking, etc.!
