Oxford Community Schools

Dear Oxford Parents and Guardians,

In December, as stated in the Dec. 4 letter to the district from Supt. Throne, the district began working with an independent security consultant, Secure Education Consultant (SEC), to review the district’s policies, procedures, and physical operations as they relate to safety, security, and emergency preparedness. SEC is an expert in the field of emergency planning, serving dozens of high performing school districts in Michigan and across the country. SEC’s safety expertise extends beyond the school environment as it has served clients in a variety of different industries including Fortune 500 companies, places of worship, healthcare facilities, and state and local governments.

Since December, SEC Founder and President, Jason Russell, has been collaborating with Oxford Community Schools in developing strategies for the district to continue to improve the safety and security of our schools.  We wanted to share with you that Mr. Russell will be conducting a presentation during tomorrow’s board meeting. We would also like to make you aware that the district’s engagement with SEC is ongoing as we continue to evaluate of all areas of security and safety within our schools.
